This “Nostalgia” Pick Could Suddenly Explode Higher

The word “nostalgia” evokes a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time.

And right now, as we begin the 2021 investing year, a group of so-called “nostalgia stocks” have been some of the best performers on the entire stock market.

Thus far in 2021…

ViacomCBS is already up 154%.
Barnes & Noble Education is already up 91%.
Fossil Group is already up 67%.

Barron’s editor Alex Eule’s recent article titled “It’s Not Just GameStop. Why These Retro Stocks Are Suddenly Hot” brought this “Nostalgia Index” into the limelight.

But one name that’s been completely overlooked, in my view, is Tootsie Roll Industries (NYSE: TR).

I’m willing to bet that five seconds ago, you didn’t even realize that Tootsie Roll was a standalone company listed on the stock market.

But it’s true. It debuted on the New York Stock Exchange in 1922 and is one of the largest candy manufacturers in the world.

Approximately 64 million Tootsie Rolls are made daily.
