Good morning Wake-up Watchlisters! While you’re sipping coffee you’ll see stock futures were up slightly after getting off to a slow start on August. Last week the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell .3% and 1.9%, respectively. Inflation numbers have also cooled, but are still 2% above the Federal Reserve’s target, which could lead to more potential rate hikes in the future.

With inflation still a problem across the globe, many billionaires, hedge funds and central banks are buying up this hard asset.

AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AMC)

AMC Entertainment is down 27% premarket after a court approved the movie-theater chain’s revised stock-conversion plan. The long awaited plan was approved by a Delaware court on Friday.

Tesla, Inc. (Nasdaq: TSLA)

Tesla is down 2.30% premarket after the EV company unveiled further price cuts in China amid an ongoing price war in the world’s biggest car market. Tesla lowered the price of its long-range Model Y by 14,000 Chinese yuan, or 4.5%. The China Passenger Car Association said last week that domestic vehicle sales fell 2.6% last month, compared to July of last year.

Those are the biggest stock movers for today.

Happy trading!
