The market’s in one of those “cautiously optimistic” moods: S&P’s still sideways, Nasdaq flexing, retail perking up, tech getting bought.

Right now, that’s Toast (TOST). This chart is showing all the right ingredients for a breakout, and I want to be ready when it cooks.

If you don’t know, Toast is a cloud-based platform powering point-of-sale, payments, and restaurant management for eateries of all sizes. If you’ve paid at a restaurant with a sleek touchscreen lately—there’s a good chance it was Toast.

But here’s what stands out:

• Up +20% year-to-date (major indices just now turning green)
• Trading right at/near 52-week highs
• Fresh off a big earnings win
• Stacked EMAs on both daily & weekly
• Squeeze setting up on the 30-minute and shorter timeframes

If you’re looking for momentum, this is where it’s hiding.

Intraday Squeezes: The Spring Is Tightening

Let’s talk about what’s really got my attention—the squeeze on the intraday charts.

For those new here, a squeeze is when the Bollinger Bands contract inside the Keltner Channels—volatility dries up, and price action goes quiet. It’s like a spring winding tighter and tighter. When you see these squeezes pop up on the 30-min, 15-min, or even 5-min charts right near highs, that’s when I get excited.

No daily squeeze here—just that building pressure on the smaller time frames.

This tells me the stock is loading up energy, and if it fires, the move could be fast and sharp.

Stacked EMAs: Buyers in Control

I keep it simple: stacked EMAs (shorter above longer) mean the trend’s intact and buyers are running the show. TOST has that textbook look—8-day, 21-day, 34-day, and 55-day EMAs all lined up perfectly on the daily and weekly charts.

Every dip gets scooped up. That’s the kind of price action you want to see if you’re looking to play for continuation.
